McBee & Co., PC opened its doors in June 1984 under the direction of its founder and namesake, David A. McBee, Sr. In 2010, David’s son, Clayton A. McBee, joined the firm as Partner. Upon David’s passing in 2021, Clayton chose to follow in his father’s footsteps and serve as Managing Principal of McBee & Co., PC overseeing the Firm’s Auditing, Corporate and Individual Tax departments.
The firm’s direction when established was, and continues to be, to provide excellent service to our clients. We have staff support personnel working with clients of all sizes, to serve their needs in accounting, auditing, taxation, and various other services.
As members of the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA) and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC), we hold ourselves accountable to current professional standards. We are also a registered firm with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and are subject to their firm review program.

Meet The Team
Clayton, a lifelong Dallasite, graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance in 1998 and earned his Masters of Science in Accounting in May 2015 from the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his CPA certification in Texas in July 2014. Clayton has significant experience in multiple industries having worked at Deloitte & Touche and Centex Corporation before joining the Firm in March 2010. Clayton oversees the Firm’s Auditing, Corporate, and Individual Tax departments. He values his personal relationships with his clients, which range from SEC-registered companies to locally-owned small businesses, and enjoys working directly with them to address their business needs. He also works directly with medium to high-income individuals to develop tax and business strategies. Clayton lives in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas with his wife Betsy, his two boys, Jackson and William, and their dog Ellie. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
